From Our Table to Yours
Friday Arts Project’s first ever digital fundraiser.
WE DID IT! Our goal for this fundraiser was $5000—enough to pay for our studio space & related costs for a year. Thanks to all of you for helping us reach this goal—in the midst of a global pandemic, no less.

Food and Art are two of the things our community rallies around the most. As we dusted off old recipes or attempted new ones, you were invited in for five nights of digital dinner parties followed by warm & insightful conversations with artists both near and far.
This event was staged on two platforms over the course of a week. Each evening began at 5:30pm on Facebook Live as selected local artists skilled in cooking invited us into their kitchens for a cooking show meets interactive performance piece.
Afterward, we all hopped on Zoom at 8pm for artist talks, conversations or presentations with Mako Fujimura, Angelo Geter, Sarah Kennedy Irwin, John Hendrix and Jocette Arıbeyi. Thank you to all who attended,. Below you will find appropriate treats for your enjoyment—in case you want to see it again!

Additionally, most of these recipes can be found in the Food & Art Cookbook, but you can always follow along with the chef from their kitchen. Thanks for helping us reach our goal!

During the second part of each evening—at 8pm—we opened up the Zoom Room with National Poet Laureate Joy Harjo’s poem, Perhaps the World Ends Here. We selected involved artists from our community in Rock Hill to read the theme poem each night. You can see Joy read her own poem here.
